RED ALERT We have just discovered a major security threat.. in fact one of the worst malware programs that we have ever encountered.. the threatening site is ANTISPYWAREBOX.COM First, an unknown Trojan file infects one's system, through an unknown route. It starts popping up an alert on the desktop warning that your PC is infected with a virus. Clicking on the alert takes you to the above site, which then encourages you to download and install an "antispyware" program called TitanShield. Once installed, this program wreaks ultimate havoc: -It keeps throwing up a pop-up leading you back to the parent site -It pops up irrelevant messages, eg. that your system is going to shut down -It DISABLES REGEDIT.. that means you can't clean the Windows registry of the malicious commands -It UNINSTALLS any anti-spyware programs on your system -It DISABLES your Firewall's Blocking feature -It DISABLES the Firewall On feature in Windows XP -It DISABLES Add/Remove Programs, so you can't uninstall -It DISABLES Windows MSCONFIG.. that means you can't control/disable start-up programs, including the malware -It DISABLES Windows security features including Folder controls -It even corrupts the command line in MS-DOS Command Prompt Ultimately, it ensures that your entire operating system is compromised and needs to be reinstalled -Besides which, it is propagating brazenly through legitimate-looking blogs etc., INCLUDING on McAfee's malware-detection site (siteadvisor.com) THIS IS THE MOST EXTREME MALWARE WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED, AND MOST CURRENT ANTI-MALWARE SITES/PROGRAMS DON'T EVEN RECOGNIZE IT! WE ARE
